Hey there cyber-universe. Here’s a list of things that has been keeping me away from you recently:
1) Life
Well…that’s about it. What have I been doing, you ask? Well, I’ve been job hunting, working on my novel, and studying for the GRE’s just to name a few. But in lieu of my absence, I’ve come to the conclusion that my blog has no direction and desperately needs a revamp.

Don’t worry! You’ll still get your daily doses of things to take you away from your own stressful life, here at Sand Cafe. But wait! There’s more!
I’ve recently been gifted subscriptions to both The Writer and Harper’s Magazine which has inspired me to give you guys an inside look at the life of a writer. So along with my resolution to actually give you guys daily quirky tid-bits to relieve some stress from your life, I’m going to be letting you know what it’s actually like to be a writer.

So stay tuned! And because it’s 3:40am and the only other people awake are other writers, goodnight.

Oh hai.
Disappeared for a while. Sorries! Shit got craaaaazy. But I’m back and I’m ready to play.
Downloaded a new app for my phone (Droid X) and it is AMAZING. (Props to my little and little little for introducing it to me)
Here’s the maker’s (alienmanfc6) description of it:
“Ever lost your phone and you go to call it to listen for the ringer and remember its on silent mode? Now when you lose it you can text your phone with the custom set attention word and it will turn off silent mode, the ringer vol up, and start ringing. You can also text a different attention word and get the GPS location of your phone.”
Talk about the most useful app in the phone market out there. 4.5 star rating, I gave it 5. You can text from an other number and set your own custom word or phrase. Kind of awesome. Because who likes losing their phone?

No one.
On another happy and exiting note! My parents are coming to visit syracuse this weekend for the first time in a while (besides move-in and move-out) and I’m oober excited :) I told my mom to get ready, because her credit card and I have some serious catching up to do? (Only child syndrome much? Oops, oh well.)
And ANOTHER exciting note! Tax returns soon! YAY! MONEY!

So what am I gonna do with it? Tune in soon to find out ;)
Ciao!

I will come to you one day, Bora Bora. I will. You can bet on it.
Bones.
Just watched the Bones episode that aired last night (2/10/2011).
Like I posted on my friend’s Facebook wall:
***SPOILER FOR BONES SEASON 6 PREMIERE & CSI SEASON 8 FINALE/SEASON 9 PREMIERE***
“I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much from a TV episode since Bones told Booth at the beginning of this season that she couldn’t love him. Or since Warrick died on CSI. Or since Anya left Xander at the alter in Buffy.”
And now I can’t stop crying.
Probably because it’s 3:45am.
Probably because I’m tired.
Probably because being left at the alter or having the love of my life leaving me after I’ve given myself to him is my biggest fear in my life.
It probably doesn’t help that the whole time I was watching the end of that episode — (don’t worries, no spoilers, at least with names involved)
But the only thing I could think of was this song by Train.
Which if you’re sad or feeling like you’ll never be truly loved…don’t listen to it. Albeit, it’s an amazing song and I hope to dance to it some day at my wedding…right now, in the dead of night after watched the end of the latest Bones episode….it is not the song I want stuck in my head.
On a lighter note!
Got accepted to my minor today (finally!) and moreover:
Wrote an amazing chapter of my novel tonight. And never before have I been SO proud of something I’ve written. I can’t wait until you all can read it. It is the biggest stroke of literary genius I have ever had.
Anywho.
Just needed to vent.
Arrivederci!
(and for the french lover inside of me):
Bonsoir mes amis. A demain <3
Game tonight!
Syracuse vs. Georgetown!

What the hell is a Hoya anyways?
Apparently, it’s a plant.
At least people can actually eat Oranges. And like Oranges.
Is it obvious yet what side I’m on?
See you all at the dome!
~George Orwell, “Why I Write,” 1947
Today, I’m filled with pride for Alpha Xi Delta.
Words cannot express how amazing yesterday was. Bid Day 2011 was a day full of energy, love, and pride. We got an amazing new pledge class that we love and who loves us just as much. I can’t wait to see what they can become.
We even made the front page of the Daily Orange because we were so excited for our new girls.

Our theme was of course Lil Wayne “Right Above It”
For those of you unfamiliar with the song, check it out here.
To add to the excitement of yesterday, it was the Super Bowl!
Congrats to all you Packers fans out there, and to the Steelers fans, my sympathies.
I wasn’t really for one side or the other (Unfortunately the Pats had a tragic loss to the Jets early in the playoffs), I just like a good football game.
Check out some of my favorite commercials, I’m sure you all enjoyed some of them too:

Happy Monday to you All,
Au Revoir!
Whoops.
Kinda missed out on a few days there.
Been pretty tired there past few days. I’ve barely had time to eat.

I’m filled with love for my axid’s lately, can’t wait till bid day tomorrow so we can get our newest babies :)
Unfortunately this past week I’ve barely had time to work on my novel either. This is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be.
Who knew that writing a novel would be so hard?
I just wish I could sleep and write and the same time.
Oh well, for your enjoyment for the rest of the day:
